I'm enjoying the morning here, but I have to check out and get started on our day. Happy Holidays once more!

Morning everyone ( afternoon now I guess for EST'ers...lol)

Still buys with Christmas stuff, plus I have other chores...gonna be a long day

Then I get the news that my BIL's brother is being taken off the ventilator today, he is 75, and his only medical issue is Alziemers ( sp, too lazy to look it up and my spell checker doesn't work on here for some reason)...covid and that nasty influenza, it is pretty prevalent here right now, the triple threat...has inspired me, though I have escaped it numerous times before or was asymptomatic, to wear a mask again in some places, even though I know it isn't a great help for prevention, it makes me feel better...

Though I was just in a wing of the hospital ( gastro) surrounded by possible danger, and was fine, plus most of the employees weren't even masked, except in the procedure room

Hope you all have a great a day as possible

Placido Domingo, everyone. I learned last night that I'm too old and stiff to do the Twist.

I need some prayer warriors. I've been a Big Sister to my little for 9 years now, she's 16. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 9 years old and yesterday she passed away at age 42, leaving behind her daughter and a 14 year old son. Dad is not in the picture. Thank goodness for her grandmother, aunt and uncle. She called to tell me yesterday and it was heartbreaking.

I'm so naive. I have a couple questions. 1) Are these "police officers" well paid? You'd have to pay me a lot to be a narc. 2) Why do we allow foreign governments to buy our land? I've heard China is buying up lots of American farmland.

Morning all

Things are looking more rosy today, decorating and gotta get my cards done this week end...I just had a disagreement with Cheryl's cookies and by sticking to my guns , I got my money back and get to keep the cookies they are sending me...even if they aren't the ones I wanted, good deal...lol

That is a sober topic...scary...why can't we force them out of the country if we know they are doing this stuff? I can't imagine living like that, but, then again, most of the people who do don't have a lot of choice and some that is all they know, so, it might seem more normal or a given to them..and with limited access to the rest of the world, many probably don't know it is different other places. though the recent protests seem to indicate that they do know...

That's a really frightening top story about China, and it is not hard to imagine that other governments could do the same and the world become a more frightening place. As I mentioned recently, around 1900 my grandfather deserted the Tsars's army and fled to Canada, where he changed the family name for fear the powerful Tsar would find him and take him back. That came to mind as I read about the Chinese police. Scary.

Earlier, Aylene Wright (still the best pseudonym I've seen) referred to TMD as the mothership which prompted me to recall that many years ago, there was a Charlie Brown comic strip that showed him saying, "I can stand on my own" (he looks down and counts) "two feet."

I think we're standing on our own pretty well and we might refer to the other place as either TOP or some other idea. I'm sure we can come up with good suggestions here. So sure.

Ok... that's rather serious and depressing topic to start the weekend off with, but as the captain of the Mothership had a G file about the Werewolf vs Vampire question, I guess this is needed balance.

Good morning, all. I am just plain exhausted from the the Pun-apalooza from yesterday that I'm just gonna sit back and be a passive reader today. Cold and sunny. May take a hike and DVR the soccer matches to watch tonight.

Well, that’s depressing. I was just listening to an NPR report on Brazil losing at the World Cup. The two US reporters were having a great time, cheerily talking about Brazil’s reaction to their defeat. I find it interesting that people (countries) claim to be so upset about human rights until it’s about sports.

Good morning. Starting the weekend off on a light note, I see.
