All of 17°F at 3000 ft in altitude this morning, pre-sunrise, here in southern West Virginia. That’s two degrees colder than yesterday around this time. Before the first signs of dawn, the stars were bright and clear—so long as you could get away from the light pollution.
The ground is frozen hard as a rock. This is colder weather than usual, earlier than in recent decades. It is believed to be because we are in the cold phase of the ENSO cycle—a “la Niña.” Hard to tell if it portends a colder-than-usual winter. Early cold has often preceded very mild ones.
What’s on your mind?
Just saying Good afternoon, busy, busy doing stuff...lol
Thanks! So far, so good!
