TMD: Watch this space. (Yes, I’m early again.)
MG: Since it’s election day, let’s talk about the futility of changing anyone’s mind. The caveat might be that it’s nearly impossible to do so with anyone who’s mind is already made up. That’s because as humans we tend to believe that we’ve arrived at our own opinions about the world through reasoning, no matter what our opinions are. Those who don’t share our views—we are convinced—haven’t taken the same facts into proper consideration as we have.
At least, this is the general summary of what David McRaney tells Russ Roberts in this fascinating podcast.

Perhaps it will change your mind.
ok, from someone of my kind...here is some interesting, hopeful news ( this could include independents, they technically don't exist in OH...lol)

A southwest Ohio man shot and killed his neighbor because he believed he was a Democrat, according to the victim's family.
Oh great, and people keep telling me I am overreacting...yes, they aren't a majority, but I have met more than a few where I live and work
For instance, I work on a street that is an industrial parkway, exclusively small privately owned businesses...testosterone central...all are owned by men, and after a year I have seen one woman besides me...lol...( in some instances this is a good thing...lol)..this is a rural township
Lots of trucking companies, landscapers , home security etc, we have a motorcycle repair and a commercial garage door manufacturer etc. Most of the ones my boss has introduced to me seem fine...however, he apparently doesn't feel good about others and hasn't or won't, and I remember hearing him telling someone early on to stay away from me...we have a state prison (reformatory) down the street from us also...my boss keeps are doors locked for this and other reasons...
So , some of the guys on our street take their AR-15' s and other loud and rapid fire stuff etc, and on the back edge of their property practice shooting them, which is actually illegal here, but, I assume the local sheriff is on their side...because they never do anything about it , though they sometimes drive down the street and park in what I call a turn-around and sit there watching...it is always jarring when I hear it, it is so loud and if I didn't know who it was, I would think something terrible was going on.
I don't think it is unreasonable to be cautious or avoid these guys...though I know my boss would help if I needed it...but I am in the office alone in the early morning, and I can get a bit nervous, so he told me not to open the door for anyone I don't know, Now, keep in mind, this is a middle class area and the parkway and businesses are very nice, this isn't a "bad part of town".
Within the 7 mile route I go on the way to go home are 3 gun shops...there are numerous people open carrying everything now, as they changed the law...sigh...lot's of F -you Biden and Let's Go Brandon yard signs and on trucks.
I have nothing against sane people having guns or hunting even though I never could, my dad was an ex marine and collected guns, I know they are not all bad guys...
However, there seem to be more of the ones who are out in the open
I am not a scardy cat , ( I survived an armed robbery and a rape, I am awesome in a crisis oddly, but, after...not so much...lol), but, it just seems to me to be reasonable to worry about these people , and to wish we could chase them back into the caves them came out of., and that we could get rid of open carry at least and require concealed carry to be licensed and trained again no?
Ok, go that off my chest, thanks for listening, my heart goes out to the family of that poor man
