Katie drove to quilt with Janet (Pam's Mom) yesterday. Janet is finishing a quilt for her niece, it is five years late. The quilt will be 130 quilt squares, in a design, with a border. In looking at what all Katie has done, she has cut out 80 of the squares, and sewn over 110 of them. Janet couldn't remember how many she had gotten done, but Katie sewed 80 yesterday, Janet sewed four.
Katie offered to come back next week and place the border about it with Janet. She'll then bring it home, put batting on it, and add a quilt design to hold the front, back and batting together (think of a sandwich, the batting being the meat in the middle...or veggies, etc.).
Janet will present it to my niece as her gift to her. Although she offered to have Katie sew her name on the back with hers (Katie declined to take credit).
I'd estimate Katie has done 90% of the work, for 0% of the credit. Yup, I married a saint.
Morning all ( made in time...lol). I have had a really busy two days at work, so first time since the change. Looks pretty cool and glad people are still posting.
I don't have much time so: Interview with the Library Board position went very well, I liked them a lot and they liked me too I think. Went to a coffee shop I didn't even know was there ( downtown Elyria) ...( because I am not real observant of my surrounding type ( in Briggs-Meyers Speak I am an inuiter, not a sensate...lol). . The cheese danish was awesome and decor and atmosphere were great, but the coffee was really strong, I put three sugars and a boatload of cream and it was still bitter tasting...lol...
They said they would be n touch, the have 2-4 positions to fill and had to interview a couple more, but, I think I made a good impression. It sounds like a lot of fun and doing something for the community, and keeping libraries strong. It is a 4 year commitment ( they meet once a month on the second Monday of the month with some special meetings) . There are paid positions , like the open lady is the director, but this position is volunteer) So, fingers crossed...
Today is Taco Day ( not a fan) and Pumpkin Seed Day, love them.
Two new words I have learned with my word trivia sties:
Dysphemism ( the opposite of euphemism..."calling a spade a spade"
Old world term" Wist: to know or be aware of something we use the word knew to replace it
I have no idea why Grammarly has unlined danish and decor I am sure they re spelled right...lol
More proof I marry saints.
