Rob Henderson reads Roy Baumeister and tells us where Evil comes from.
It was a long read, but right in the area that fascinates me in social psychology. And I didn’t have to spend too much time reading it, since I used the Substack app, which will read the article to you if you’ve got other stuff to do with your eyes and hands.
I just have an observation today. I’m not sure anyone here, besides Cynthia and I, is a subscriber to National Review. I like some of their articles, but what I’ve always disliked were the comments. They were complete chaos, and really just an opportunity for trolling.
But recently they completely changed the format, and suddenly people are saying things that are worthwhile. I like the format a lot more than I do at TD. There’s an option for thumbs up, thumbs down (hardly seeing anyone using that), and a “questioning” emoji. 🤔 (Similar to this.)
I haven’t seen anyone being annoying or abusive, so far. And, frankly, I had no idea these people existed until now.
PS Johnson just got the House Speakership. Trump should be pleased. 🙄
I’ve never tried the Substack app, but it would be helpful to have some of the articles read to me. I reach a point where I just don’t have time to read everything, so I’m going to try listening to Unmasking Malevolence. Thanks!
