Culture clash
Today we’ll have an excursion. We’ll take a trip south to Mexico. Considering the bad news here might actually be that bad (and not just a result of negativity bias), it’s good to scope out alternative locations to take up residency. Before we go, we should be aware of the culture. And since I’m part German, I’m going to make sure we first learn about all the stuff that’s verboten.
The information about halfway through Pau’s video explains cultural features that are probably the most exotic, the most foreign to socio-cultural northerners. In fact, if I’d heard these features described as complaints by another American, I might have thought the descriptions were unfair and overgeneralized. But they’re just very different. They’re things we’d have to adjust to after moving.
Now? Now we’ve just got to get the language worked out. Not everyone runs around with those helpful English subtitles in real life.
I am late, fun read of the comments
I am home tomorrow because of prep for that stupid colonoscopy I have to have again...sihg not thrilled...lol...might have more time to post etc.
Punsters take note: there is a pretty robust pun battle over on Slow Boring in the piece on DC criminal code. It began with an early comment, so its relatively easy to find search chronologically.
But they are clearly soft on crime over there - no policing, no doors.
