Charlotte Nicdao plays Lucy in the Australian made-for-cell-phone series “Content.” We learn about Lucy from the narrative perspective of her smart phone. The series of seven short videos is about how the devices themselves are shaping people—especially the young. It is quite innovative, as well as unique and darkly funny.
The first episode:
You can see the others if you search YouTube for #contenttvshow and look for the list of all seven from the Australian public broadcaster, ABC.
Charlotte Nicdao is also the female lead in the AppleTV+ comedy series “Mythic Quest” about a group of younger-generation neurotics running a video-game-development company.
The entirety of the “Content” series is available online for free. Episodes range in length from around seven minutes to just over 15. You don’t have to watch them on a cell phone—but the screen format makes it possible to do so. If you watch it full screen on a smart phone, it might feel like you’re having an out-of-body experience.
It’s a good dramedy, well conceived, written, and acted.

I just don't like being told by Europeans that Americans ought to be more like Europeans. If they can explain their stuff and how it works and the rationale for it without trying to play the "you should be doing everything the way we do it" card in the process, then I'm all right with listening to their perspective. But they need to leave out the superiority claims if they don't want to be brushed off. I'm pretty sure my ancestors came over here because they were fed up with being micromanaged by superior Europeans, who are still mad at us for escaping.
Now I'm going to make some Jello and measure the water in cups like it says on the package, so there.
Son C, the skinny, weird one, came by this afternoon to get the cat carrier, so his roommate, Daughter C, can take her cat to the vet. He has shaved and got a haircut and is looking quite handsome and even less skinny. Maybe he's met someone he wants to impress. Or maybe Daughter C mocked him for looking like a homeless alien (space-type, not foreign national). Either way, a nice development.
