Future Tense
This newsletter will to on hiatus for the next two Mondays, which fall on Christmas and New Year’s Day: the proprietor’s mood about national and global affairs has been far too negative, and who wants more of that for the holidays? It will return on January 8th, hopefully inspired by new events that are more encouraging than has otherwise been the case.
Meanwhile, for whatever is on your mind, please come to the comment section for today’s newsletter, or stop by for the daily open comment thread. It’s a place where people can share thoughts and notes on life and the world around us, and where there’s always someone to lend an ear, or, uh, eye. We’re all about mutual support. And we can discuss fraught issues of politics and policy without getting insistent, too, if it isn’t something that has already put you off.
Not to mention, we’re also glad to hear about your achievements, good fortune, and tales of success. Or tell us about your ideas for hobbies, for worthwhile books and movies. Inspiration is always welcome, as it should also be in real, nonline life.
Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to you all!
I thought I should stop in to say that I hope everyone had a Happy Hanukkah, and I hope you all have a truly Merry Christmas.
Nothing much going on here. I have still been reading TMD, but commenting a lot less. There’s no good news, it seems. Still, my life is good, and I have a lot I’m grateful for, and I hope the same for all of you!
