Artificial intelligence is (being used for) finding fraudulence in medical research. This story from Deutsche Welle is a bit superficial, but plausible enough. It’s a new story, but a known phenomenon.
The headline about AI having found the fraud makes it sound like AI chatbots go out on their own and find stuff of their own volition. I’d assume the “findings” were the result of specific tasks given to specific AI tools. At least, that’s what I’d hope.
The worst knock-on effect of such poor and fraudulent research comes when bad papers are cited in further research under the unchallenged assumption that they are reliable. Scientific findings based on weak foundations are apparently all too common in large swaths of some fields.
Was just watching the Ink-Stained Wretches podcast for the first time in ages. Very noticeable how much Chris has benefited visibly from his low-carb or keto diet. He looks significantly thinner and healthier.

Good morning on the Sunday after Easter. Frost early this morning, but 50 degrees, clear skies and sunshine right now.
