TV Music
This is the first season I’ve ever watched American Idol, and I’ve quite enjoyed it so far—so long as it’s the recorded version so as to speed through the commercials, that is.
The snippets I had seen in previous years while it was at its ratings peak on Fox broadcast years ago led me to believe it was viciously harsh, reveling in people making fools of themselves as they made an earnest effort to sing. This has not been my impression of how ABC handles it, what with ABC being a Disney property.
At any rate, the performance of one particular young man this year, Iam Tongi, was incredible. Take a look and see what you think.
I think there’s something in my eye. Yours, too?
He seems to be very well liked among his rivals, as well. He has a great personality and stunning natural talent. The others contestants have been amazing, I must say, even as a person who has never been particularly drawn to exceptional vocalists. That they are exceptional, however, is undeniable.
Placido Domingo, my dears. Loud birds this morning.
It's Derby Day and I've been a little busy watching the ponies run. I'll admit that, being a *horse lover*, I occasionally get a little bit of a tight throat for a moment or two while watching, if and when a particularly poignant story about some horse and / or its connections comes up.
But damn, ya'll. Somebody open a window, please, 'cause it's gettin' dusty as hell in here.
